Diesel to power through the World Championships Amateur Road Race

The Divisional Manager of HES Automatec, Bruce Diesel, has qualified for the World Championships Amateur Road Race which is taking place in Albi, France over the August bank holiday weekend.

The stunning course is 155km long and it is tough for any rider but with views of Castelnau de Montmirail, Puyceslci, Bruniquel, Penne, Corniche Brousse Saint Antonin Noble Val and Cordes, you could cycle a lot worse routes! The peloton will go over the côte de Castelnau, then a long climb to Vaour and its ancient Megalith, then finally the tough cliff of St. Antonin and the slopes of the vineyard on the way back to the finish.

To enter the World Championships Amateur Road Race, cyclists had to finish in the top 20% of a qualifying race. Bruce did this when he competed in the Tour of Cambridgeshire, earlier this year. Bruce also finished 6th when he competed in the same event in South Africa in 2012, which was the inaugural race of this format.

The course suits Bruce as a cyclist and he knows that the race is going to be a huge challenge but he is looking forward to it. There is also a large number of entrants that are coming from the UK so he is excited to be involved.

Group HES is proud to support Bruce with this challenge and we are sponsoring him to compete. So best of luck Bruce from all of your Group HES family and we expect to see you on the winner's podium next weekend!
