Workshop Engineer - Gloucester

 

Group HES is looking for someone to work in their Mechanical Workshop, based on Innsworth Technology Park in Gloucester.

Group HES has been a market leader in the supply of hydraulic components and systems since 1965 and has been named as one of Gloucestershire’s Top 25 fastest growing businesses for the last two years in a row.

The company is experiencing a period of exponential growth and requires an experienced mechanic or mechanical engineer to add to their team, to develop the workshop capabilities we can offer to customers.

The experienced candidate will work to the day to day work schedule, including small mechanical/hydraulic engineering assembly, repair and warranty investigation and reporting.

The successful candidate will work closely with various people and departments across the company, to ensure the highest quality standards, exceeding customers’ expectations. 

The normal working hours will be 9-5 Monday to Friday, flexibility when required is essential.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Build/Repair of hydraulic pumps, gearboxes and valves
  • Produce Inspection Reports
  • Diagnose, fault find and research workshop/mechanical issues
  • Participate in all workshop activities
  • To ensure that all activities are carried out with the highest regard to the health and safety of all involved and to the protection of the environment and prevention of pollution
  • Ensure all testing, operations, processes, housekeeping and daily checks are performed in accordance with company policies and procedures and relevant regulations
  • Dealing with customers on the trade counter face-to-face

Skills and Experience:

  • Mechanical aptitude is essential; must be experienced and trained in the use of relevant tools and equipment.
  • Mechanical apprenticeship or equivalent “time served” experience is an advantage.
  • Able to demonstrate excellent engineering practice.
  • Basic electrical knowledge required
  • Good communication skills (verbal and written)
