Piston Pumps

CLOSED LOOP VARIABLE DISPLACEMENT PISTON PUMP

SD-42

Capacities 28cc-41cc/rev

Speeds 3750 rpm

Pressures up to 300 bar

Sauer-Danfoss axial piston pumps can be made to vary their displacement, or swept volume, by altering the angle of the swash plate against which the pistons operate. Delivering the pump's output flow to a suitable motor provides for a 'closed loop' system if all the motor's output flow is then fed directly back into the pump inlet. Leakage across the pump & motor elements is replenished by means of a boost pump integrated into the main pump assembly.

ADVANTAGES

SERVO CONTROLLED DISPLACEMENT

SD 42 pumps use a cradle swashplate design which is servo controlled so that precise variations in displacement can be produced with very low operating forces. All pumps are supplied complete with integral boost pumps & boost relief valves.

MULTIPLE CONTROL OPTIONS

SD 42 series pumps can be supplied with a variety of control options such as pressure limiting, torque limiting, horse power limiting or even a full automotive drive control.

SAE 'B' MOUNTING FLANGES

Units are supplied with SAE mounting flanges plus radial facing ports. Tandem units are also available in certain displacement combinations.

ADDITIONAL POWER TAKE OFF MOUNTING FLANGE

All pumps are available with an SAE A rear flange that can be used for mounting additional services pump.

Temperature

Oil temperature should be between +30ºC & +60ºC during normal operation. Oil life is greatly reduced if temperature exceeds 60ºC. As a general rule, oil life is halved for each 8ºC temperature exceeds 60ºC.

Filtering

It is necessary to keep the level of contamination within a hydraulic system at an acceptable level to ensure trouble free operation. Filtration should always be specified at a level that protects the most sensitive item or component in the system.
