Gear Pumps

ALUMINIUM FIXED DISPLACEMENT EXTERNAL GEAR PUMPS

TFP 50

Capacities 0.25cc-1.27cc/rev

Speeds up to 8,000rpm

Pressures up to 200bar

Sauer-Danfoss fixed displacement gear pumps displace oil by means of one driven gear & one idler gear meshing together. The two gears displace oil in their gear teeth notches from the suction port to pressure port. The displacement of the gear pump is a combination of the size / diameter of the gear & the width of the gear. Fixed displacement pumps will deliver oil flow in direct relation to their swept volume and their rotational speed.

ADVANTAGES

PRESSURE BALANCED BEARING BLOCK DESIGN

TFP 50 units all incorporate the use of gear shaft bearing blocks that provide pressure balancing against the side face of the gears, so that the pressure produced by the pump actually compensates for the separating forces generated by pump pressure.

MULTIPLE VERSIONS AVAILABLE

Pumps can be coupled together to produce double or triple units. However, the input stage must be capable of transmitting the total pump torque.

TWO HOLE EUROPEAN MOUNTINGS

Units are supplied with a 'European' two hole mounting flange plus a series of shaft options that allow for normal coupling. Alternatively 'tang' drives are also available.

MOTOR DESIGNS AVAILABLE

All capacities of units are available as uni-rotational motors.

Temperature

Oil temperature should be between +30ºC & +60ºC during normal operation. Oil life is greatly reduced if temperature exceeds 60ºC. As a general rule, oil life is halved for each 8ºC temperature exceeds 60ºC.

Filtering

It is necessary to keep the level of contamination within a hydraulic system at an acceptable level to ensure trouble free operation. Filtration should always be specified at a level that protects the most sensitive item or component in the system.
