ADVANTAGES

FILLER BREATHERS

Filling or topping up reservoirs using a Filler Breather ensures that any new fluid passes through a strainer before entering the reservoir. They also allow the reservoir to 'breathe' as the fluid level changes.

LEVEL GAUGES

It is very important that any loss of fluid or any lowering of fluid level in a reservoir is quickly attended to. Fluid level gauges can also be supplied with inbuilt thermometers.

PRESSURE GAUGES

Hydraulic system performance is best monitored by the use of accurate pressure gauges.

SUCTION STRAINERS

To prevent large particles of contaminate entering into a pump, suction strainers can be fitted to the main pump inlet. Care should be taken to ensure that the suction strainer is always fully submersed in reservoir fluid.

Temperature

Oil temperature should be between +30ºC & +60ºC during normal operation. Oil life is greatly reduced if temperature exceeds 60ºC. As a general rule, oil life is halved for each 8ºC temperature exceeds 60ºC.

Filtering

It is necessary to keep the level of contamination within a hydraulic system at an acceptable level to ensure trouble free operation. Filtration should always be specified at a level that protects the most sensitive item or component in the system.
