January 2008 - HES Tractec drive forward with new Comer deal

HES Tractec Ltd, a division of hydraulic equipment specialists Group HES Ltd, have become the exclusive UK and Irish distributor for all COMER products and associated spares - including COMER SOM planetary gearboxes, Geolink motors and the Axial range of piston pumps and motors.

Comer Industries is a global leader in the design and production of advanced engineering systems and mechatronic solutions for power transmission. Their systems are used by many of the main manufacturers of industrial machines worldwide.

HES Tractec now stock modular planetary drives, wheel drive gear units and planetary slewing drives for installation on mobile operating machinery and stationary industrial equipment. Applications include crane, winching and hoisting systems, material handling equipment and mobile plant.

The Planetary Gear units also meet the growing demand for compactness, constructive simplicity and product reliability in power transmission.

The Comer range is divided in to 21 basic groups, based on the different torques that are to be transmitted to the output shaft - which can vary from 0.5 to 65 kNm. The Planetary Drives modular construction permits the coupling of bevel gears, worm gears, hydraulic brakes and a variety of input shafts to the planetary units, as well as providing for a choice of coupling flanges for hydraulic, air and electric motors.

Various stages, in different sizes, can be mounted to offer a wide range of reduction ratios – ranging from 3:1 to 7:1 on single-stage drives up to 10,000:1 and more on 5-stage drives. The wide selection of output shafts and flanges simplifies the reduction unit mounting operation on industrial machinery or plants.
